Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf

The Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf is surrounded by nature and yet close to the city of Berlin. The rooms, which enjoy a view of the lake, are an ideal place for recuperating in a pleasant and private environment after an operation, alone or accompanied by relatives. The newly built clinic has high standards and is an ideal retreat offering quality recuperation.

More than 10,000 inpatients are treated at the clinic every year, and a large proportion of these are treated in the Department of Surgery. As a university hospital of the Brandenburg Theodor Fontane Medical School (MHB), the doctors are tasked with integrating the latest medical findings and standards into their treatment approach.

The Centre for Robotics at the Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf is a highly-specialised department for robot-assisted abdominal surgery (Da Vinci). Under the direction of chief physician Dr Krüger, and with support from four specialist Da Vinci operators, the centre focuses on tumour surgery and the treatment of functional disorders of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract.

Robot-assisted abdominal surgery is most advantageous in operations where work done with millimetre precision is decisive, such as for patients with tumours, complex diagnoses or if several organs are affected at the same time. It is particularly beneficial for elderly patients or those suffering from multiple illnesses, as an operation would pose a great strain on their body.

Measured in terms of the number of operations and the spectrum of different procedures, the Centre for Robotics at the Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf is among the leading robotic centres for abdominal surgery in Germany. All those involved in the treatment process have considerable experience with regard to the wishes and needs of Da Vinci patients.
