The Special Ward for Neurological Rehabilitation combines intensive care monitoring with advanced rehabilitation techniques. This benefits seriously ill patients in particular, such as those requiring ventilation or dialysis. Under the supervision of experienced specialists, they are slowly weaned off the ventilator or dialysis machine, their physical fitness being restored at the same time.
As well as having specialized therapists provide intensive treatment to patients, Brandenburgklinik’s goal is to improve rehabilitation outcomes through the use of state-of-the-art rehabilitation techniques in the field of robotics (“robot-assisted therapy”).
Conducting research in close collaboration with partners such as the Charité, the University of Potsdam and Leipzig University, Brandenburgklinik is involved in developing advanced rehabilitation methods that it makes immediately available to patients.
